How can I help?

Health and Clinical Resources

The Delapaz Elementary School has a health clinic.  The health clinic is the first level of medical assistance to an injured or sick student.  The next level is at Batangas City where there are government and private hospitals and clinics.  During good weather conditions, when it is not raining, the dirt road to Batangas City can be traveled in 40 to 45 minutes plus city travel time to the hospital or clinic.  During the months of May to November when the rainy season dominates, an alternate road must be taken to Batangas City, via Lobo.   Most of the road from Lobo to Batangas city is asphalt or cement, but the travel time is twice as long due to the extra distance.  The clinic at the school boasts a table and a canvas cot for a bed under a small short building with a corrugated metal roof.

Without a proper medical person at hand, doctor or registered nurse, there is little that can be offered other than rudimentary supplies and facilities.  Some of the inhabitants of Delapaz have family members that are medical professionals that are in the area from time to time. Some supplies for their use in the case of an emergency should be provided.
